School Placement Week One

Friday the 30th of November marks the last day of my first week in SP, it was very tough going back and I feel very out of practice but I know this is to be expected. The staff are very supportive and the learners on the most part are eager to get started on the various units of learning. All very good signs.

I started my school placement right smack in the middle of Christmas exams, as such I observed classes and tried to get back into the "teaching zone". I have three AT's so I am not only juggling new students but also three art rooms and trying to come to terms with where everything is. Finding a box of pencils is a challenge I managed to conquer, so far so good I guess.

Next week classes will go back to normal so it'll really be my first time with my proper schedule. Due to the time of year it is I am expecting a lot of last minute class cancellations with TY's going on trips, upcoming CBA's in other subjects etc. however I know this is all part of the everyday life in a school.

With one week down and ten more to go, I'm looking forward to getting really stuck

into my units of learning.
