Investigation into Formal Spacial Composition.

Specialising in sculpture and graduating in 2016 from I.A.D.T with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Visual Arts Practice. Whilst in college the artist explored a variety of mediums including screen print and video, often working with found materials with a strong focus on the minimalist form.

There are consistent themes in the work, which include human traces and transient spaces. This is often through the manipulation of materials and spatial compositions creating self sufficient/ self sustaining forms. The properties of a vast range of materials have been examined, questioning their boundaries. An in-depth investigation into the manipulation of materials can be identified and are being explored by way of formal compositions, and spatial arrangements.

The artist creates controlled arrangements that create conversations between the materials in their applications.Through researching, a relationship began to be established and a conversation began to occur between the permanence of a fold and the impermanence of a curve. This observation led to the controlling or manipulation of the form to hold a permanent position.

Found materials have become intrinsic to the work and are further manipulated, with the use of contemporary mediums such as g-clamps, bungee cords and shoe laces, allowing the viewer to understand the mechanism controlling the structure. The materiality is questioned around their boundaries and sustainability and it is upon this line work is created.
